An annual banquet is fast approaching for one local chapter of a national organization.
The Greene County Chapter of Pheasants Forever is hosting the banquet fundraiser this Friday at Clover Hall on the Greene County Fairgrounds in Jefferson. President Kevin Devilbliss says this event means even more as their organization reaches another milestone this year.
“It’s hard to believe that we’ve been around, the Greene County Chapter, for 35 years. This is actually Pheasants Forever National’s 40th year. So you can see we’ve been there most of the time they’ve been in existence. We’re chapter 104, which means we are the 104th chapter ever founded by Pheasants Forever.”
Devilbliss says there will be live and silent auctions, which he thanks the donations for their auction that has come from different community individuals, organizations and businesses.
“The community has been very good to us, we’ve gotten some real nice donations and a lot of these people are year after year. They always donate and we sure appreciate that. We can do a lot with that, that let’s us raise more money.”
Devilbliss points out there are three pre-banquet raffles, including a $500 gift card to Scheels, and two $250 meat gift certificates to Murphy’s Meats. Raffle tickets are $10 each.
Proceeds from the fundraiser mostly stay within the county and some goes toward the state youth program. The doors open at 5:30pm on Friday and a meal that is catered by Lidderdale Country Store will begin at 7pm, with the auction to start after the meal. Tickets for the event are $50 for a membership and the meal, $65 for two people and kids 16 and under are $12.
