Perry and surrounding Dallas County residents who have yet to vote early and who want to will have an opportunity to do so this week in Perry.

Dallas County Auditor Julia Helm tells Raccoon Valley Radio a satellite election location is scheduled to be at the McCreary Center in Perry Wednesday, November 2nd from 1-7pm. She points out that this will be the only day that voters can cast their ballot in person in Perry ahead of Election Day on November 8th. She talks about the benefits of having these kinds of satellite locations.

“It’s helpful because then we can bring the voting to your neighborhood. It is beneficial, especially to our heavily populated areas of the county, that voters get a chance to do it ahead of time. And it’s an in person kind of situation for voting.”

Helm reminds voters to bring their photo identification with them when they vote and that any eligible voter in the county can cast a ballot on Wednesday. She points out that her office will be open this Saturday from 8am-5pm for anyone who would like to vote then. She says that mailed absentee ballots can’t be dropped off at the satellite location in Perry.

Helm notes that these satellite locations were petitioned by the public with at least 100 signatures. The two other remaining satellite locations are in West Des Moines on November 1st and Clive on November 5th, with that information can be found below.
