The Greene County Historical Society is hosting their monthly program later this week.

Greene County native and owner of RVP~1875 Robby Pedersen will be the guest presenter at the Scranton United Methodist Church on Friday. Pedersen will talk about his business, that is a combination of his name and the year that his refined craft-making skills made furniture in 1875, while also using the tools of that time period.

After graduating from Jefferson-Scranton High School, Pedersen earned his bachelor’s degree from Iowa State University in education and history. He then went to work for ten years at Living History Farms as a history-interpreting furniture maker and then he established RVP~1875 in Story City. In 2008, Pedersen moved the business to Jefferson where it’s been in its current location. Then in 2009, he added onto his business with building the History Boy Theatre.

The free program begins at 12:45pm on Friday. A meal will be served prior to the start of the program at noon. Call them at 515-386-4408 to register for a free meal.
