The high school wrestling season in Iowa starts next week, but teams already know where they’ve been assigned for 2023 district tournaments. The Iowa High School Athletic Association Board of Control voted in April to discontinue sectionals, so State Tournament qualification now will be done on a district basis only in all three classes and the number of State qualifiers has been increased to 24 for all 14 weight classes.

Greene County has been assigned to Class 2A District 10 in Webster City on Feb. 11 with action starting at 10 a.m. The first and second place finishers in each weight class advance to the Feb. 15-18 State Tournament at Wells Fargo Arena in Des Moines.

In addition to the Rams and the host Lynx, teams in 2A District 10 are Carroll High, Gilbert, Hampton-Dumont, Humboldt, Roland-Story (Story City), and Southeast Valley (Gowrie).
