The Carnegie Library Museum is starting a long standing tradition this week that last over a month.

The Festival of Trees at the Carnegie Library Museum has started and will last until January 8th with activities going on every day. Librarian Candi Coffin says they will have 33 different holiday themed displays that include trees and wreaths which are sponsored by a different individual, organization or business that people can look at and vote for their favorite. Coffin explains that there will also be activities that range from scavenger hunts, coloring and a selfie station along with holiday music.

“It’s just to bring people together and help celebrate the holiday season. And it gives you a little bit of joy just to walk around and see the trees in an inside environment. You’re not outside the cold, right? And you get to see the building itself because it is a very nice building.”

During this time there will be a quilt raffle and a  free will donation box to collect money for the museum library. All activities will be available during the business hours of the Carnegie Library Museum that is Tuesday through Saturday 10am-4pm except for Thursday 10am-7pm.
