The Perry Chamber of Commerce started a new holiday season with the lighted parade on Friday

Chamber Director Lynsi Pasutti said that the annual Lighted Holiday Parade always happens the day after Thanksgiving to get everyone in the Christmas spirit. Pasutti explains businesses stayed open late for this event and turned off their lights and the community tlined the downtown street got a glimpse of the lighted floats in the parade. She thanked everyone involved with making another successful lighted parade.

“But really, I like to thank the people that create those parade floats. We wouldn’t have a parade without so many different entries. I know that there’s a lot of effort that goes into building those floats, getting those lights working every year, and sometimes weather dependent, dealing with the cold as well.”

Pasutti said they gave out  prizes for best, biggest and brightest lighted parade floats. The parade route started at the corner of 2nd and Otley and ended downtown.
