Zach Nunn defeated Congresswomen Cindy Axne to be the next Iowa’s Third Congressional District Representative and he will assume the position in January.
US Congressman Elect Nunn says he is currently working on building constituent services buildings in Des Moines, Creston, Ottumwa and a mobile unit that will look to help anyone with Medicaid, Medicare, social security benefits, veteran affairs benefits and these buildings will also give someone the opportunity to voice any political strifes.
“Here’s why it’s so important. When we were on the campaign trail, It was about getting out to all 21 counties and hearing from the half million Iowans who we are going to get the opportunity to serve in Washington. And it doesn’t matter the political stripe. We want to make sure that we are working hard as case managers, as public servants, to make sure what they need is getting heard in Washington, D.C.”
Nunn says their mission is to have the government working and being accountable for the people and on day one he plans to never proxy vote.
“We’ve got people here in the third District who had a representative that voted over 100 times by proxy, wasn’t in town, wasn’t doing the work. We want to make sure that when legislation gets passed, people are in committee having those important conversations about what Iowans need to be their voice in Congress.”
He states their 100 days in office goals are to have America energy independent and pushing bio diesel, ethanol, solar power and carbon capture.
