Last week was the Iowa State Dance Competition, and West Central Valley was there to compete.

Wednesday the team had five solo performances, and a group contemporary performance. Malia Fuller and Taylor Ommen both received Division 1 Ratings, while Ciera Kinzie, Maya Richter and Emily Partlow all received Division 2 Ratings. Fuller was also able to place 9th in her category, out of 71 performers. The team grabbed a Division 1 Rating and a 2nd Place Trophy for their Group Contemporary performance, and received a Distinguished Academic Award, and a Sportsmanship Award, which is given to only one team for the day.

On Thursday, the team performed in the Hip Hop and Poms categories, and brought home even more trophies. For the Poms performance, West Central Valley earned a 2nd Place Trophy, and their routine in the Hip Hop Performance earned them a 3rd Place Trophy.
