
Monday, December 12th
5:05am: Jennie Rothfus reported her juvenile son had run away from home overnight. The officer located the youth at a friend’s residence and returned him home.
1:00pm: Draven MacGregor reported a Careless Driver on 220 th Street, near Jefferson. The officer spoke to the registered owner of the vehicle by phone. He advised he had dropped something and as he reached for the item, his vehicle briefly left the road onto the shoulder.
1:20pm: A resident spoke with an officer concerning his juvenile daughter’s backpack being placed in the toilet at High School. The officer made contact with the school, who had suspended all involved in the incident. The officer spoke to the parents of the juveniles involved, but did not take further action.
1:48pm: Raymond Jones spoke with an officer concerning his girlfriend’s welfare. The officer learned that Story County had been given the same information and it is in their jurisdiction. The officer took no action.
3:30pm: The Wild Rose Casino reported a subject, who was on the self-inclusionary list, was found on the gaming floor. The officer issued Gilberto A. Aquino Hernandez of Des Moines a summons for, “Trespassing – Simple.”
4:58pm: Jeff Ford advised of a deer, which had been hit by a vehicle, needed dispatched on South Elm, near the Middle School. The officer put the animal down and Ford disposed of it, as he works for the DOT.
6:56pm: The Iowa Poison Control Office requested a Welfare Check on a juvenile in the 400 Block of West Russell Street. The juvenile had been caught with a vaping device and made to smoke a pack of cigarettes as a punishment. The parent took the juvenile to the ER to be checked out by a doctor.
7:16pm: An officer took care of a reported Parking Violation at 204 West Harrison Street.
