West Central Valley and Paton-Churdan met in non-conference high school girls and boys basketball in Churdan Monday night on KG98 and streamed on www.raccoonvalleyradio.com with the Wildcats earning a sweep. The girls’ final was 45-36 and the boys score was 57-26.

The girls’ game was tied 23-23 after the Rockets led 21-9. The second half belonged to WCV as they led by 12 points late before settling with a nine point victory to improve to 4-3. Coach Tom Kennedy’s Rockets fell to 0-4. Freshman Becca Anderson had 17 points, 14 in the first half. Bailey Anderson added nine points and Emma Stream scored eight. Malia Fuller led WCV with 12 points.

P-C has only six players on the roster and the minimum five were suited up on Monday night. All five finished the game and the Rockets led 10-6 after one quarter, but trailed 24-13 at intermission. The Wildcats grew the lead to 44-20 at the end of the third quarter, and the margin grew to 35 points with the running clock late in the contest. Freshman Caden Stream hit four three-pointers for 12 P-C points to lead his team. Owen Weber and Landon Osberg each had 15 points for WCV, now 2-4. The Rockets played for just the second time and fell to 0-2.

The Rockets stay at home in Churdan tonight vs. Glidden-Ralston in a scheduled Rolling Valley Activities Conference girl/boy doubleheader starting at 6 o’clock.
