It’s Greene County at West Marshall (State Center) in high school basketball tonight. The Heart of Iowa Activities Conference girl/boy basketball doubleheader in State Center starts at 6 o’clock with the girls’ game and the boys to follow. The WM girls are 6-0 and ranked third in Class 3A behind 6′ 2″ senior Katy Ryerson and her scoring average of more than 21 points per game. The Trojans are 3-0 in conference play while the Rams are 0-5 overall and 0-3 in the league. WM averages more than 60 points per game to just 17 for Greene County.
On the boys’ side, it’s a pair of two wins teams squaring off. The Rams are 2-3, 1-2 and the Trojans are 2-2, 2-1. Greene County played three games last week and did not have a full squad in any of the three due to illness. Coach Chris Nelson is hoping for better health this week, another three game week.
