Injuries are the part of athletics that everyone wishes wouldn’t happen, but they do. Greene County junior Nathan Behne suffered a knee injury on Dec. 8 in a home basketball game vs. PCM (Monroe) and according to his Dad, the Rams head boys’ soccer coach, Carl Behne, the injury will require surgery, following by a several months long rehab.
Behne averaged more than five points for the Rams in his first four-plus games before crumpling to the court after scoring eight points vs. PCM. A four-sport athlete for the Rams, he earned second team All-State honors in Class 2A as a kicker for the football team, and played soccer and golf last Spring. He was a starter both his freshman season when the Rams qualified for the 1A State Soccer Tournament, and last year. Among Behne’s post-high school goals are to kick for a college football team. If rehab goes well, he may be back on the football field by the time camp opens in August.
