Adel-DeSoto-Minburn Tigers basketball was hoping to put up a strong performance on Friday night against the Boone Toreadors, and both the Tiger teams were able to find a victory with the girls winning 46-37 and the boys winning 58-37. The girls move to 5-4 on the season and the boys move to 3-4 on the year.
Trailing 14-11 after a quarter of play, the girls were able to use defense to their advantage, as they were able to keep Boone scoreless in the second quarter of play and take a 10 point lead into halftime. In the second half, they were able to use a mix of offense and defense to keep the Toreadors at bay, and pick up a needed victory in the process.
The boys were able to play a clean 32 minutes of basketball, as they were able to outscore Boone 18-7 in the second quarter and 14-5 in the third quarter and not look back against a pesky visiting club.
For the Tigers, they will have one more game in the 2022 portion of their schedule, when they take on the Perry Bluejays on the road on Monday.
