A Radcliffe man was recently sentenced in Greene County District Court for an ongoing incident.

According to court documents, 57-year-old Paul Waugh pled guilty to a Class C Felony for first degree theft and had a ten year prison sentence suspected and was placed on probation for two years. The charge stemmed from an investigation with the Criminal Investigator for Medicaid Fraud Control Unit due to alleged mishandling of money of a dependent adult. Waugh was the power of attorney for his father, who was living at a long term care facility in Greene County. Court documents show Paul spent $18,140 of his father’s money on himself instead of paying for nursing home bills. The crime was estimated to have happened between April 14, 2018 and March 25, 2019.

Paul was also ordered to pay over $17,000 in victim restitution, court costs and court fees. As per the plea agreement, the other charges, including a Class B Felony for ongoing criminal conduct and a Class D Felony for dependent adult abuse, were dismissed.
