The Stuart City Council met in regular session Monday night.

The Council approved liquor licenses for Your Private Bartender, LLC (Saints Center) and The Cup on 2nd, and heard a nuisance violation request, but took no action on it. The Council discussed amending section 50.03 of the Stuart Municipal code, but decided to not take any action. They also approved a street closure request form that will be added to the Stuart Chamber of Commerce’s website.

Additionally, there were updates presented by Stuart Police Chief David Reha, Stuart Rescue Unit Director Sean Bovinett, and Stuart Public Works Director Jim Henderson for their respective departments. Marketing Main Street Owner Nate Westre also made a presentation to the Council. There was a public hearing about the 2022 Sewer Manhole Project, and the Council approved the rezoning of parcels of land, and heard an update from Stuart Economic Development Director Matt Funk.
