Wild Rose Casino and Resort in Jefferson recently donated money to two local non-profit organizations.
Wild Rose General Manager Travis Dvorak presented two $5,000 checks to the Greene County Action Resource Center (ARC) and Greene County New Opportunities at the food pantry in Jefferson. Dvorak tells Raccoon Valley Radio they saw the increased need that both of these organizations are going through with more people relying on their services and with the casino doing better than expected, he felt there’s no reason why they shouldn’t give back.
“A lot of it is really the need, but the other reason is because of what a great job the ARC does and what New Opportunities does. They really take care of these people that need it and it’s really a no-brainer, it’s really our honor to really support these organizations.”
Dvorak points out the casino couldn’t be as successful as it is without the employees that work there, which is then a domino effect in terms of the amount of money they can give back.
“I’m proud of all the people that work out there at Wild Rose. Like everybody else we’re short staffed, I may not have quantity in staffing, but I have quality in staffing. They work so hard and our hard work has paid off. We’ve been able to, not just do record revenues and give to Grow Greene County (the non-profit gaming license holder for Wild Rose Jefferson), but to take that beyond and do other measures and give to great organizations like these two here.”
Dvorak adds they also donated funds to the ARC earlier this summer, as well as last year at this time, along with Greene County New Opportunities.
