The Dallas County Supervisors met on Tuesday.
The Board heard fiscal year 2024 budget funding requests from multiple government organizations but did not take action. The library association (what library association?) asked the Board for an eight percent raise to fight the current rate of inflation. The Dallas County Fair Board asked for an increase of 10-percent in funding for rising costs of upgrading the fairgrounds along with HIRTA Public Transit Service for a contribution of $41,000 to keep their operation going in the county.
Then the Board approved a budgeted vehicle purchase from the Dallas County Sheriff’s Office which was a 2022 Ford Explorer for the price of $26,728 and the purchase of the Des Moines Area storage building for the price not to exceed $52,385 from Covers Construction at the Dallas County Farm. Then the Board approved the cancellation of prior year outstanding checks and the attorney deputies as presented.
