With the Martin Luther King, Jr. Day holiday coming up on Monday, several offices and businesses will be closed in Jefferson.

The Jefferson City Hall, Jefferson Public Library, Greene County ISU Extension Office and the Jefferson Post Office will be closed on Monday in observance of the holiday. While the Greene County Courthouse will be open that day, the clerk of court office will be closed.

Library staff says nothing is due to the library when it is closed for a holiday and Jefferson residents are reminded that garbage and recycling routes will be delayed one day due to the holiday. That means Monday’s routes will be done on Tuesday, Tuesday’s garbage and recycling will be picked up on Wednesday and Wednesday will be collected on Thursday. Garbage and recycling schedules will go back to normal the following week.
