The Panorama basketball teams hit the road to take on Madrid.
The girls were up first. The Panther girls team was coming into their game with a 10-1 overall record and 8-0 in the WCAC. After the first, Panorama had a slim 13-9 lead. The Panther defense made a big stand in the second, only allowing 3 points. Panorama would outscore Madrid, 11-3, giving them the 24-12 lead at the half. The third quarter was an offensive explosion of 20 points for Panorama, making it 44-20 heading into the fourth. The Panthers would continue to roll giving them the 58-21. The girls improve to 11-1 and stay a perfect 9-0 in the WCAC.
The boys would have a different story. They were trying to get back on track after back to back losses last week. They would face a Madrid team that was 6-2 coming into the game. The Tigers were red hot and that didn’t change in this matchup. It was close after the first, Madrid had a seven point lead, 22-15. The Tiger offense would outscore Panorama 19-11 giving them the 41-26 lead at the half. The real deciding factor in this game was Madrid’s offensive production. They outscored the Panthers 18-8, which would give them a 59-34 lead heading into the fourth. This would lead another huge quarter for the Tiger offense. They would win this one 84-58. Panorama drops their third straight and drops them to 4-7 overall and 3-6 in the WCAC.
Both teams will be back on the court on Thursday. They’ll be back home to take on Nodaway Valley. The girls will tip off at 6pm and the boys will follow at roughly 7:3opm.
