
It was Perry at Greene County in Heart of Iowa Activities Conference girl/boy basketball make up games on Tuesday night in Jefferson on KG98 and streamed on www.raccoonvalleyradio.com. The Jayettes won the girls’ game 52-13 and the boys’ contest went to the Rams by a 65-61 score.
The girls’ game saw the Rams lead 4-0, then score just nine points the rest of the game. Perry went on a 10-0 run after the early deficit, then rolled to their fourth win against eight losses and second HOIAC victory against five in the loss column. The Rams are 0-12, 0-7 and had no one score more than four points. Freshman Reagan Baldwin had 22 points for the Jayettes.
The boys game saw the Rams lead 38-28 at intermission, then go up 44-28 early in the second half. The Blue Jays came back to within two points at 63-61 late, but a pair of turnovers in the last 25 seconds cost them a chance at getting any closer. Greene County was led in scoring by Richard Daugherty with 22 points. Gabe Ebersole had 16 points and 12 rebounds, with 13 points from Jesse Miller and 10 for Patrick Daugherty. Perry had 14 points apiece Drake Levan and Geren Kinney, and 13 from Owen Myers.
Greene County travels to Story City on Friday to face the Roland-Story teams on KG98 and streaming on www.raccoonvalleyradio.com. Coverage starts at 5:45 pm with the girls playing at 6 and the boys to follow.
