A Scranton man was recently sentenced for a June 2022 incident.

According to court documents, 30-year-old Joseph Hupp pled guilty to a Class D Felony for his third or subsequent offense for an OWI. Court documents show Hupp had all but 30 days of a five year prison sentence suspended, with the remaining time to be served in the Greene County Jail. Hupp was also placed on probation for 3-5 years with the Iowa Department of Corrections.

The charge stemmed from an incident on June 17, 2022 when a Greene County Sheriff’s Deputy conducted a traffic stop at 11:28pm on 230th Street, west of C Avenue for Hupp’s vehicle that didn’t have a rear license plate light. Hupp showed signs that he was under the influence of alcohol and the preliminary breath test resulted in a 0.222 blood concentration level.

Court documents show Hupp was also ordered to pay over $1,300 in fines, surcharges and a probation fee.
