There will be a cooking class coming up that is co-sponsored by the Perry Area Food Pantry and Iowa State Extension. 

The “Spend Smart, Eat Smart,” cooking class will be from 1 to 2:30pm on Tuesday at the Mt. Olivet Lutheran Church on Otley Street in Perry. Former chef Tom Keinert will be the lead instructor and he will be using food samples from the food pantry shelves and what can be made at home. Keinert will also give advice about being a smart grocery shopper and eating healthy. On-site Childcare will be available and reserving a spot is required with a limit of participation. People looking to attend can call or text the number provided to get signed up.
