The Greene County High School wrestling team will recognize its seniors tomorrow night in the high school gym in Jefferson on Senior Night. It’s a Heart of Iowa Activities Conference double-dual with West Marshall (State Center) and Roland-Story (Story City) and these will be the last conference duals of the season. Coach Zach Beekman’s team is 10-8 overall and 4-1 in conference dual meets.
The Rams are coming off a strong showing on Saturday at the Perry Invitational, finishing fifth in a field of 17 teams. Seniors Kale Petersen (132 lbs.) and McKinley Robbins (138) won individuals titles and remain unbeaten on the season. Junior Gavin Scheuermann (160) placed second and sophomores Gavyn Winters (106) and Brent Dennhardt (145) each placed third. Foreign exchange student Bork Ersness from Norway was sixth (182) and junior Jackson Turner placed eighth at 152 lbs.
