Greene County youth have a free opportunity once a month to experience different topics and make things to take home.
Greene County ISU Extension 4-H and Youth Coordinator Samantha Hardaway says the Maker Space is a come and go event filled with activities and crafts the fourth Wednesday of every month at the Churdan Public Library from 3:30-5pm. She talks about why she chose the Churdan Library to have these newer monthly programs.
“I just think it’s a good opportunity. I know the Churdan Library always has a bunch of kids up there and I just want to expand our programming all across the county. And so I thought it was important to make sure that we have programming for those kids in the Paton-Churdan School District that might not be able to make it to some of our Jefferson programming.”
Hardaway adds each Maker Space is free for kids in kindergarten through 5th grade, with next Wednesday’s theme being about agriculture.
