The return of the Classics Movie Week is underway at the Sierra Community Theatre in Jefferson.
Tonight is the final opportunity to see the free showing of Alfred Hitchcock directed “North by Northwest” from 1959. The criminal/thriller movie begins at 7pm. Then tomorrow is a special documentary of how Templeton Rye got its start in “Whiskey Cookers” also at 7pm. Board President Mike Piepel says there will be a free whiskey tasting with Templeton Rye at 6pm. Then, next Wednesday and Thursday is 1959’s “Some Like It Hot,” which both shows are at 7pm.
Piepel talks about how the board selects the movies they show to the public during Classics Movie Week.
“There’s thousands and thousands of movies to pick from. Of course we can go back to the 1920s, 1930s, 40s, but we thought this time we’d stick with classic films from the 50s and we try to tie one of them with the Templeton Rye, their movie.”
All shows begin at 7pm and concessions will be available for purchase.
