The Adel Public Library connects pets with kids for a program called Therapy Pets.
Patron Services Manager Amy Puck says that the Des MoinesAnimal Rescue League will bring in pets for this program from 4:30 to 5:30pm on Thursday. Puck says that ARL will bring in dogs, cats, rabbits and maybe other animals for people to pet.
“We hang out in our storytime room, which is in our children’s section, and then kids and adults can come and go as they please and pet the animals and talk to the handlers and really get an idea of how relaxing pets can be.”
Puck tells those wanting to attend to not bring their own pets. All ages are welcome and for more information contact the library.
