An organization in Greene County is offering a free opportunity to help someone who is struggling with mental health.

Greene County Suicide Prevention Coalition is hosting a program called “Question. Persuade. Refer (QPR)” that helps train people to notice the signs of someone struggling with mental health issues and the warning signs of suicide. GCSPC Member Michael Bierl says the instructor for the training Anthony Santiago will also give participants ways to persuade those individuals to resources for help.

The free program will be held at the Greene County Extension Office in Jefferson on Tuesday, February 7th from 1-2:30pm. Anyone wanting to attend can contact Bierl at his email address: mbierl@greenecounty.iowa.gov to sign up.
