The Guthrie County Board of Supervisors will meet in regular session today.
The meeting will start with a public forum before the selection of the county’s official newspaper are considered for approval as per Iowa Code Chapter 349. This decision is usually made at the first meeting of the year, but after the original approval was rescinded by a motion made by Supervisor Maggie Armstrong in the third meeting, the Board has yet to decide on official newspapers.
The Board will then hear an update from Sheriff Marty Arganbright, and then budget presentations from County Conservation Director Brad Halterman and County Public Health Director Jotham Arber will be made. They will then discuss county contribution for Heart of Iowa Habitat for Humanity for Fiscal Year 2023-2024.
The Board will then appoint a Board Representative for Farm Services Agency and hear a semi-annual report on substance abuse prevention and treatment. They will then discuss and set a public hearing for a budget amendment for Fiscal Year 2022-2023.
The Board will give a project update on the Law Enforcement Center Project, and consider for approval for pay estimate number 27 for the Samuels Group and a possible change order for elevator fees. Finally, the Supervisors will consider for approval canceling the Board meeting for February 2nd.
The meeting will start at 9am in the Board of Supervisors Room in the Guthrie County Courthouse. For those unable to attend, there is a digital option available here.
