A popular fundraiser for one Greene County organization returns in time for Valentine’s Day.
Greene County ISU Extension 4-H and Youth Coordinator Samantha Hardaway tells Raccoon Valley Radio the 4-H Young Leaders are once again hosting the chocolate covered strawberries. She says the proceeds go back to the Young Leaders and she describes what they’ve used money on in the past.
“The Young Leaders use these funds for different volunteer opportunities. So a lot of times if there’s a benefit or an auction going on for somebody in the community. I know with the Brayden Turner Benefit they donated funds to that from their club. They also use it for different team building and holiday parties. So this year we did team building, and we did bowling at the local bowling alley and then we came back and watched a movie, and had some snacks. So these funds are used for different events and planning, as well as donating to different fundraisers around town.”
There are a half dozen for $10 and a dozen is $18. Orders must be placed by February 6th either at the Extension Office or with any Young Leader. Order pick ups are scheduled for February 13th from 6-8pm and February 14th from 9am-4:30pm at the Extension Office.
