The Dallas County Public Health Department is challenging people to get their annual wellness exam done.
Health Navigation Coordinator Ann Cochran says that this is a good time to schedule an annual wellness exam to see a doctor for a regular and routine check up to find any potential health issues before they become a larger issue.
“Keep track of your own fluctuations in weight. Watch for any changes in moles or other spots on your skin. If you notice anything unusual about your bowels or your urine, tell your health care provider they can’t help you if you’re too embarrassed to talk about these kinds of things.”
Cochran also states other variables to getting a wellness check include finding a home medical establishment which is the clinic you go to for primary care so they can keep records and pay attention to someone’s medical history. She says to stay in touch with your insurance provider to know how often they will pay for a wellness exam.
