The Dallas County Conservation Board will have one more program to test people’s tracking ability coming up.

DCCB Outreach Coordinator Sarach Gilchrist says they will have their final “The Animal Sign Hike,” with their Naturalist Erica “Bearica” from 10 to 11am at Voas Nature Area in Minburn on Friday. Gilchrist explains this is a hands-on activity and they have been getting a good attendance for each program.

“Erica is very passionate about different animals and mammals. And so you just get to go out on a hike and she’s going to point out different things that to the untrained eye, you might not necessarily notice. But when you start having those things pointed out to you, she can show you what kind of animal behaviors have been happening. We think that everything hibernates over the winter, and that’s not true. So she likes to take you on a little tour and see what we can see.”

The Animal Sign Hike will be from 10 to 11am on Friday. Registration is encouraged to be notified if a weather cancellation does occur.
