A new hall of fame is going to be established towards the end of this school year for Greene County High School and nominations are now being accepted.

The Greene County Fine Arts Hall of Fame will feature graduates from Greene County, East Greene, Scranton or Jefferson-Scranton High Schools who have excelled in either instrumental, vocal, speech or visual arts. Greene County Activities Director Dave Wright explains how this new venture came about.

“Well, Mr. (David) Heupel and (former AD) Todd Gordon had talked about it in the past and that was something that I felt coming in would be something worth doing as well. So the bar is going to be pretty high to get into it. But we got like an All-Stater, that sort of thing.”

Additionally, there is an Elite Fine Arts Sponsor, with some of the criteria to qualify to be nominated includes multiple years as a successful activity sponsor, directing individuals or ensembles that win the speech banner or directing jazz ensembles that win their championships, receiving superior large group ratings over 90-percent of the time as a sponsor, among others.

Nominations are due by March 10th to the Greene County High School main office. Click the link below to access a copy of the nomination form, or contact Wright at the high school.
