The annual Greene County Cattlemen’s Association banquet and trophy auction is happening later this month.
The event will be held at Clover Hall on the Greene County Fairgrounds in Jefferson on Saturday, February 25th. The evening begins with a social time at 6pm, followed by a ribeye steak meal at 6:30pm. The auction will then follow the meal.
President Justin Robbins tells Raccoon Valley Radio proceeds from their main fundraiser goes toward scholarships and a variety of other youth projects, including one special venture with the fourth graders.
“We give them stocking caps and gloves. We started that a few years back and that has just been a big hit. It does not slide to the backburner with our guys. That is one thing that everybody remembers about (and) we want to make sure it gets done. We get big ‘thank you’ cards. It was great to see how much it really means to them. That’s kind of what brings a joy to our group of guys, knowing that there’s somebody out there that we’re able to make a difference to.”
Tickets are $25 per person and can be purchased from any Greene County Cattlemen member or at the door.
