The West Central Valley Wildcats will be celebrating a state championship. Kayla Bartholomew of the girls bowling team competed in the state championship Tuesday, and won the title. Coach Chad Pote says that Bartholomew also holds a record, as she is the first state champion in the state of Iowa to be legally blind.
Bartholomew and Pote both said that there is a lot of excitement with the win. Bartholomew also encourages other impaired students to take the leap and participate in sports, as she was happy and excited to be able to represent West Central Valley.
