New Opportunities of Guthrie County and the Mary J Barnett Memorial Library are working together for a health and prevention presentation.

New Opportunities Prevention Consultant Sydney Batz tells Raccoon Valley Radio that Mary J Barnett Library Director Jerri Hawkins came to her with an idea for a presentation on vaping and the concerns on health that comes with it. Batz says that next week, she will be presenting information on vaping at the library, in a free to attend event geared towards youth and their parents.

Batz adds that she’ll be going over the different types of vaping products and e-cigarettes, tobacco industry tactics, the harmful effects of vaping, and policies and procedures related to vaping and vaping products. Her presentation will be at the Mary J Barnett Memorial Library on March 9th, and begin at 6:30pm, and that anyone interested is welcome to attend.
