The Office of the Iowa State Auditor released its report on Guthrie County recently.

The County’s revenues for the year ending June 30, 2021 was $19,075,386, a less than 1% increase from the previous year, and their expenses totaled out at $15,798,359, a less than 1% decrease for the same time frame.

Auditor Sand reported five findings related to the receipt and expenditure of taxpayer funds, regarding issues such as lack of segregation of duties and material amounts of receivables, prepaid expenses, capital asset and infrastructure additions not properly recorded in the County’s financial statements. Sand provided recommendations to address the findings to the County. The findings were repeated from the previous year.
