Greene County High School senior wrestlers Kale Petersen and McKinley Robbins continue to rake in the honors for undefeated and State Championship seasons for both. The Sunday Des Moines Register released its All-Iowa Boys Wrestling Teams in the March 5 edition and the duo received recognition.

Petersen was on the 14 person Elite team, comprised of wrestlers from all three classes of Iowa high school wrestling. He went 42-0 this season and captured his third individual State title, and his career with the Rams ended with 74 straight victories, 55 of those with the Rams. He won the Class 1A title at 106 for West Fork (Sheffield) before transferring to Greene County and winning in 2022 at 120 lbs. and at 132 this season. Petersen had committed to wrestle at Iowa.

Robbins was named first team at 138 lbs. in 2A. He’s a four-time State finalist and two-time champion. The Oregon State University recruit went 48-0 this season and 164-6 for his career. He won his first title in 2021 at 120 lbs. and added the 138 crown this season. The only points he allowed all season were escapes.

Greene County finished eighth in the 2A team standings at the State Tournament with Petersen and Robbins leading the way.
