The Perry City Council recently set the schedule for yard waste disposal and procedures along with it.
City Administrator Sven Peterson says that the yard waste pick up schedule will start on April 5th and will run all the way to December of 2023. Peterson says that this schedule will go back and forth between picking up at the north and south side of Willis Avenue every Wednesday. He tells Raccoon Valley Radio that there are some things they will ask residents to do with the curbside pickup.
“If it’s going to rain try and keep those bags inside and then put them out that Wednesday morning a lot times we see bags sit out for a week or two and they get rained on, those bags are designed to decompose and they do so very quickly so sometimes those bags can rip when out folks are going through and picking those up.”
Peterson also asks if residents have loose items they want to put on their curb for picks that are bundled and no longer than four feet in length and no more than 40 pounds. He reminds residents that they can use the Perry Waste Disposal site that will take leaves, lawn clippings, cherubs and tree limbs no longer than eight feet daily from 7am to 8pm.
