A new club that has been formed recently will look to collect Perry artifacts.
Larry Vodenik, Brian Eiteman and Rick Kuhns founded the “Perry Iowa Historical Society,” which will look to keep the history of Perry alive.
They will have space from 11am until 2pm on Saturday at the Carnegie Library Museum for people with historical Perry items that includes pictures, newspapers, documents or other historical artifacts to either donate or duplicate for the Perry Historical Society. Vodenik says that the club’s main goal is to preserve the history of Perry and not let any historical item go to waste.
“Some of the things that we thought was a need for ways to preserve our history and we think there is Perry history that is just being lost as people pass away as they move away to Texas, Arizona or whatever.”
This event will be free and open to the public. Vodenik says the club looks to put on some type of program every month.
