In celebration of Earth Week, the public will be invited to check out the newly constructed wetland area at the Des Moines Area Community College Dallas County Farm.
The new wetland was completed in January 2023 thanks to a donation from Prairie Meadows and will be open to the public to tour on Wednesday from 1:30 to 2:45pm. Attendees will learn more about how wetlands help improve water quality, get hands-on education from the Conservation Station and hear from a number of wetland experts and leaders including Iowa Secretary of Agriculture Mike Naig. The DMACC Farm was established in 1999 to give agribusiness students real world experiences. While the event is free, registration is strongly encouraged. Link here.
