Two Greene County organizations are coming together for a special event to celebrate April as National Poetry Month.
The Community Players of Greene County and the Greene County Historical Society will host “An Afternoon of Poetry” on Sunday at 2pm at the Historical Museum in Jefferson. Anyone who likes to write poetry and are either published or unpublished are encouraged to share their original poetry in an open mic format. Additionally, any poems that were written by former or deceased residents, or poems that were done by individuals with close ties to Greene County can also be recited.
Interested individuals who want to read or recite their poetry are asked to email the Community Players about their intentions at cpgcia@gmail.com. Sunday’s event is free and open to the public.
