Next week will be the last week to sign up for a mental health first aid class at the Guthrie County Iowa State University Extension and Outreach Office.
This class is part of the Suicide Prevention Program for Iowans. It will help teach individuals who to identify, understand and respond to different signs of mental illness and substance use disorders. The class will also provide individuals the skills to reach out and provide the initial support someone may need, and help connect them to the appropriate care. The class will be on May 15th, but registration finishes on May 1st. To register, visit the link in this story online. For those that have any questions, people can contact Dr. Anthony Santiago at the email provided in this story as well.
