For anyone looking to donate their time to clean up a diverse habitat there is an opportunity this weekend.
The “Voas Volunteer Day,” is coming up from 9 to 11:30am on Saturday at the Voas Nature Area in Minburn. The program hopes to get people together to successfully remove the invasive garlic mustard. Outreach Coordinator Sarah Gilchrist talks more about this program.
“Garlic mustard, that is an invasive plant that likes to take over a lot of our more beneficial native plants. And so it’s actually quite easy to remove. So it’s something that we invite whole families to come. Kids can come and feel like they’re really making a good contribution because they are.”
This is a free event and registration is only needed to be notified if the event gets canceled.
