It is a perfect time for a reminder on lawn regulations in the City of Perry.

Grass, weeds or brush should be cut, mowed and maintained so that it does not exceed eight inches in height. The height limit for residential, business and industrial areas is eight inches and agricultural areas aren’t to exceed 15 inches.  For vegetation that is at or above eight inches it is considered a public nuisance.

The City may decide to mow properties that are not in compliance by the first and third Wednesday of the month during May through October and the owner will be billed for the cost of the service. Additionally, it is illegal to mow or place grass, leaves and other waste into public streets, which can be hazardous.
