Dallas Center-Grimes had several highlights in the 2023 Drake Relays in the Oval on Friday.

The Mustang boys track and field team had Anthony Glay perform in the long jump event and he finished in 12th place with a jump of 20 feet and nine inches. The 1600 medley with John Kitenge, Josh Hendricks, Daniel Onwuramaka, and AJ Angus placed 15th with a time of 3 minutes and 35 seconds.

It was Kileigh Lachacz, the Northern Iowa track and field commit, excelling the in the shot put and discus for the D-Grimes girls track and field team. She finished 10th in the discus with a toss of 126 feet and placed 11th in the shot put with a throw of 38 feet and 9 inches.

There will be more to come from the the Drake Relays today when the 4×100 boys team runs at 9:58am and the 4×800 girls team runs at 10:25am.
