Greene County sends its high school track & field teams to Alleman today for the coed Comet Invitational hosted by North Polk. The Rams had its 4 x 100 meter relays run at the Drake Relays on Saturday in Des Moines. The Rams were 39th among the 96 girls’ quartets in 51.44 seconds with Olivia Shannon, Kamryn Sanders, Natalie Heupel, and Katrina Heupel. Greene County was 79th among the 96 boys teams in :45.35 with Trey Schilling, Richard Daugherty, Camden Strennen, and Jesse Miller. Both units placed higher than the position they qualified.

Today starts a busy week for the golf teams from Greene County. Coach Kyle Kinne’s boys host Perry, Ogden, and Boone at Jefferson Community Golf Course today at 3:30 p.m. Last Friday the Rams played at the Southeast Valley five team tournament. Manson-Northwest Webster won the nine hole event with 174 strokes and Greene County was second with 177, followed by Ogden 188, SE Valley 197, and 227 for Gidden-Ralston. Jack Hansen of Greene County was meet medalist at 40. Other scores counting in the team total for the Rams were 44 for Nathan Behne, 45 by Cody McCollom, and 48 for Parker Fitzpatrick.

The Greene County girls play golf vs. ADM north of Adel today at the River Valley Golf Course. Coach Heath Telleen’s team played Friday at the Roland-Story Tournament at Story City. The 18 hole event went to Gilbert at 341, followed by R-S 362, North Polk (Alleman) 432, South Hamilton (Jewell) 441, Greene County 504, and Bondurant-Farrar 506. Maya Telleen shot 116 with Taylor Johnston and Hallie Monthei each shot 123, and Maggie Mikkelson at 142.
