Sign up for one program at the Guthrie County Iowa State University Extension and Outreach Office will be ending next week.

ISU Extension Farm Manager Alexis Stevens says that Annie’s Project is a well liked program through the Extension, and that many women attend the classes. She adds that for the current schedule of classes, interested women need to be signed up by May 9th, as there are a limited amount of spots available.

Stevens mentions that Annie’s Project teaches women about different aspects of farming and agriculture, based off what the project’s namesake learned teaching herself how to better run her family’s farm. The classes will take place over six weeks, starting on May 16th and taking place on each of the following Tuesdays until June 20th. Each day will start with a meal at 5:30pm, and the classes to be from 6-9pm. It is $75 to register, and individuals wanting to take the class can sign up here. Stevens tells Raccoon Valley Radio that this class is for any women interested in learning how to better manage their farm, or to understand what their friends and family are talking about when discussing farm related topics.
