Two high school seniors were recognised as high academic achievers in Dallas County. 

Perry High School’s Lydia Olejniczak and Adel-DeSoto-Minburn’s  Kelsey Dalen earned the Governor Scholar Award. These students were recognized as the highest academic achievers for their first seven semesters in high school. Olejniczak and Dalen were among the 422 seniors in the largest 64 school districts in the state. 

A ceremony took place this past weekend at the Iowa Events Center in Des Moines where both students collected their award. The program started in 2003 and is sponsored by the Governor’s Office, Iowa High School Athletic Association and Iowa Farm Bureau.
