The Panorama Panther girls soccer team had a big match-up on Monday.
The Panthers were coming into the contest with a lot of momentum. They were coming into this game with back to back wins on Saturday. They beat Boone, 4-1 and Greene County, 10-0. Putting them at 11-2 on the season.
Last night Panorama would play Des Moines Christian. The Lions were coming into this game losing back to back games, making them 10-2.
It was a close game all night long. The teams were level at one a piece heading into the break. Both defenses played well in the second half. However, that didn’t stop both teams from picking up another goal. Making the game tied at the end of regulation at 2-2.
This would put the game into extra time. Neither team could come away with the win. So, the game was sent into a shootout scenario. Still no winner was decided. It would end with penalty kicks. This would give the Lions the win. They would edge out Panorama in penalty kicks.
The Panthers will drop to 11-3 on the season. They won’t get much rest as they’ll be back on the pitch today. They’ll be playing Tri Center. The action starts at 4:30 in Neola.
