
Dallas Center-Grimes is Little Hawkeye Champions in both girls and boys soccer with wins Tuesday.
The Mustang boys soccer beat Newton by a score of 3 to 0. The scoring got going early with a nice feed and assist from Ben Jackson to a header and goal inside the box from Wisley Kabamba made the game 1 to 0 at the 12 minute mark in the first half. The the Mustangs would score again from a misplayed ball from the Cardinals putting Ben Jackson one versus one with the goalie and he made second goal. And the final goal came in the final seconds of the game from Nick Kessler. This win marks their sixth win in conference play and running the table for their third straight Little Hawkeye regular season championship. Their final record will be (11-3). The Mustangs will now enter postseason play and have a first round bye. They will either face Indianola or Thomas Jefferson in the Class 3A Substate 7 bracket.
For the Mustang girls soccer team they handled business against Newton on the road by a score of 7 to 0. They improve to (6-0) in conference and (11-3) overall and collect their second straight Little Hawkeye Championship. The Lady Mustangs still have two games left at home against Gilbert and Indianola
